Energy Efficiency Reports for Residential and Commercial Projects
Why do I need an energy report?
In all states except NSW (which requires a BASIX Report) an energy report is required as a part of your Building License application. The energy report informs your building certifier (or building surveyor) on how well your proposed design and construction documents meet with the Energy Efficiency requirements of the Building Code of Australia.
We provide consulting services to guide your designer in the right direction. Consulting includes providing advice and review of preliminary designs, preliminary star ratings as well as advice on alternative building materials where desired.
A Basix Certificate assesses the energy and water demands of a proposed new dwelling or renovation. It also assesses the heating and cooling loads according to the design and location of the property. A Basix Certificate is required as a part of your Development Application for all new builds as well as renovations, alterations and additions with a project value over $50,000.
6 Star Thermal Performance Assessment
A thermal performance assessment calculates the amount of heating and cooling required to keep a building within a comfortable temperature range. It is completed using the latest generation of computer software and takes into consideration the location, design and material selection in your building.
Deemed to Satisfy Report
A “Deemed to Satisfy” report identifies how the proposed project complies with Section 3.12.0 of the National Construction Code or BCA. This type of report can be useful for projects that cannot be accurately assessed using house energy rating software.
